Mish mash of kitties and a chick

September 28, 2007

It’s been a little while since I posted my own cat pictures, and I have made so many that I’m just going to cram some in. Not really coherent, but the diversity and quantity should make up for it a bit.

First of all, the stalker cat is back in town. I hadn’t seen her in a while, but now she’s back to her stalking ways.

Sneakidy stalk
“This stalking thing is really working out, she hasn’t seen me”

Nog nét vreg
“Stalk surprise!”

“Where are you going? O well, I’ll find you soon enough”

This picture of Bernard cracks me up. He always looks like he has never heard that before, or like you’ve just told him that the universe will one day collapse into itself:

Uni-what?!

I saw this next cat in a lunchroom. She was super-old, and I love that. Most people won’t agree, but I love older cats so much more than kittens. With old age comes character and grumpiness, and I consider that a good thing!

Don't wake me human
“You do realize that you woke me up, don’t you!?”

Shortest whiskers E-VAR!
“You are forgiven”

And finally, a picture of a little chick! I think he has plenty of attitude for something that young. But then again, birds are almost as good as having attitude as cats.

How to get a closet

September 23, 2007

1. Check out the internet. There are loads of bargains out there on Ebay and similar sites.

2. See a closet and fall totally in love with it. It’s so pretty!

3. Decide you must have it, even if it means you have to dispose of three other closets and cabinets, because the damn thing is huge. Saw one of your closets in half, because it turns out you’re going to need it to store your hanging clothes.

4. Make the startling discovery that your desk is too big and reluctantly take it apart and pick up another one at a friends. Take that one home using an extremely loud cart which makes little children cry and old people have heart attacks.

5. Drag the desk to the fifth story and feel unhappy about the fact that you live up that high and don’t have an elevator.

6. Find a co-worker and two roommates that are crazy and nice enough to help you to pick the closet up and haul the bastard up a ton of stairs on an early Saturday morning.

7. Then ask your roommate to help you put the whole thing together. It looks like it should be a piece of cake. This will turn out to be mighty difficult because it’s an antique and some parts are not original.

8. Spend the next four to five hours puzzling and taking the whole closet apart two times, because it keeps falling apart. Feel guilty because you’re taking up your roommates entire Saturday.

9. Ask your dad and one of his friend to make sure the closet doesn’t topple over. Make them spend another half an hour fiddling with the closet.

10. VICTORY! You’re tired and covered with bruises and consumed the time of loads of people, but you have a beautiful art deco closet for little money!

Where are Egon’s arms!

September 18, 2007

Through CuteOverload I found a new favourite YouTuber named Zack Scott. He has two adorable cats named Otto and Egon, and has posted many fabulous vids of them both. I just had to share two clips featuring Egon, and the mystery of his disappearing arms!

Part 1:

Part 2:

I’ve watched them about 20 times each, still not bored!

Good ol’ kitty

September 17, 2007

A little while ago I ran into a cat that was walking extremely stiffly and had a meow that reminded me of sandpaper. In other words, she was very old indeed. I have seldom seen a cat that walked without bending his legs or without flexing it’s tail. She seemed very happy though, no worries.

My meow can smooth out any surface.”

“Stiffest tail…”

Stiffest tail in the book
“…ever!”

Ik vreet wel gras
“Hmmm, this plant looks delish, I’ll have a nibble.”

Ik vreet nooit meer gras
“Noooo!”

The look of regret after eating a bit of that plant is awesome. Total disapproval!

Mean Kitty Song

September 16, 2007

It’s all over the interwebs, so you might have seen it before, but I so love the Mean Kitty Song by Cory Williams. It’s catchy!

Ladybug + Tommie

September 11, 2007

So, today nothing fancy. I can hardly be arsed to move my pinkie finger today, let alone write something mildly amusing. Luckily this cute picture of a ladybug / lady beetle / ladybird is colourful and eye-pleasing:

Such a lady...

Not too shabby for an already outdated digital camera eh! And don’t be alarmed, that thing in the left bottom corner is not a humongous worm about to eat the ladybug, it’s my finger.

And these two pictures of Tommie, my father’s dog, always make me smile:

Attentive dog is ... attentive
Baroo?!”

And I totally laughed so hard today at the cartoons (if that’s an apt term) on Basic Instructions. It’s now on my Blogroll, ya’ll!

Roefes playing with a feather on a stick

September 7, 2007

As promised, I’m going to post pictures of Roefes playing with a feather on a stick to get rid of this image of him. When I play with him, there is always a certain regularity in his actions, which I think is applicable to loads of cats. A universal cat rule, if you will.

First, the false lack of interest:

Sooo not interested
“I’m so not interested in that feather on that stick, you won’t believe it.”

Secondly, the reluctant attention.

If you insist
“If you insist and if it makes you happy, I’ll look at it.”

Then, genuine interest that can no longer be disguised:

Attack of the Trump toupet
“This is going to be awesome!”

And finally, total lack of any shame!

Banzaaaai!
“Attaaack!!!!”

Does this seem familiar to cat lovers out there?

The many faces of Roefes

September 2, 2007

This weekend I had the pleasure to cat-sit Roefes again. This has yet again generated an ample amount of pictures, that I won’t post all at once. I would like to present a couple faces of Roefes in this edition.

Disdain / the are-you-kidding-me look:

Yeah...right

The human-like / puh-lease look:

Wheeuuuhhhh

The utter maniacal look. Run away!

Screw you...haterrzzz

Don’t think that was scary, you think I’m kidding?!

Sjeesssuss

Up next: Roefes playing with a feather on a stick. I think I need those cute pictures as an antidote!
