Happy anniversary to meeeeeeee…

January 29, 2009

There we go! Two years of Cats ‘n Stuff. And they said we would never make it… At least, that’s what I said in the very first post. Shows you how much I know. The most traffic I get on this site it because of all the posts I did on Invisible Stuff  ‘n Cats. Because I thought it was too easy to keep doing that, and because the lovely peeps over at Cheezburger deal with this much better than me, I will never make a post like that again.

However, it is certainly now below me to follow up my second most-visited post: Life-like stuffed Maine Coon cats. I made that one because the website Stuffed Ark sold some real stinkers, and they continue to do so. Also, until this last sentence, I always thought that the website was called Stuffe Dark. Again, shows you how much I know and how my malfunctioning brain works. I mean, Stuffe Dark, really? I guess it’s an honest mistake, because these ugly stuffed cats really haunt the dark depths of my subconscience. Ok, ready for some ‘Stuffe Dark’ cats?

Getting a laptop call

November 14, 2008

So today I was studying and my mobile rang. It was a friend of my mother’s who is not the most up-to-date-technical person in the world. When I answered the phone she blurted out: “I bought a laptop!”. “That’s great,” I said, “What are you planning on doing with it?”

“Well,” she said, “I would like to use the internet and burn Cd’s.” A mighty good goal indeed.
I asked her how far along she was coming with those bold plans.
“There are so many discs that came with it, I don’t know where to put them.”
I paused for a second, and then asked her: “You mean Cd’s?”
“Yeah, but where do I store them in the laptop?”
“I think I should come over to sort things out, so I can at least install a programme so you can burn Cd’s.”
“That’s so nice of you, but how can I burn Cd’s without internet?”

Clearly, I have my work cut out for me tomorrow…

Some more lovely search terms

March 21, 2008

As I posted before, I like statistics and finding out how people find my blog. Today I found some real gems in the Search Term overview:

– books that you have to stare at to see
Instead of the ones you can see immediately?

– ginger cats more intelligent
Are they? If Arie is any indication I’m sorry to say that I highly doubt it.

– flying penguins live where
On the planet orbiting the star Are You Sirius?!

– lizard love
Hey, whatever floats your boat man.

– real invisible car
It’s ok sweety, just go with the men in the white coats. They’ll take good care of you.

Soon, Welsh kitties. Real soon!

Weird pictures you can just stumble upon – part 1

March 3, 2008

Well, the title of this post says it all. I was looking for pictures of hand gestures (don’t ask) and found this picture.

Dude seriously

Makes sense right! The name of the picture was ‘jerseys’, and it came from a blog with the subtitle: What could be less interesting than reading about the day-to-day doings of Delmer Wells? Indeed. So I didn’t. I hope to find many more puzzling images like this and share them with the world. Oh and Delmer, posing next to a huge corn cob can only disappoint the ladies in the end, it creates certain expectations. Just saying.

Life-like stuffed Maine Coon cats

October 26, 2007

No no, this is not a re-post. This is follow up to the Life like stuffed Maine Coon cats post. Because I was really interested in what people were looking for in a stuffed Maine Coon cat, I did some research. The results are shocking. Please prepare for what you are about to see.

Life like stuffed Maine Coon cats

October 14, 2007

Avid readers will know that I’m a sucker for statistics and search keywords. It always amazes me how people end up on my blog and what search terms they use to get here. Recently, I discovered a real gem:

If you look under Yesterday, you’ll see what I mean. One person ended up on Catsnstuff looking for “stalker cat”. Yes, that is weird and kind of creepy, but below that is something more amazing: life like stuffed maine coon cats.

I’ve tried to wrap my head around this, but seriously can’t. There is no likely, nay, non-psychopathic explanation for these search terms. It can mean two things. One is the most…um….’logical’ reason, namely that someone was looking for a life-like stuffed Main Coon. Well, wouldn’t you just love to have a stuffed cat in your house, that is life-like as well! I mean, I really hate it when every stuffed animal that I add to my collection looks so dead. That’s creepy.

But my favourite explanation is that someone wants to know what life is like for a stuffed Maine Coon. I would imagine that it’s not very like-like (!) and boring, maybe even a little mouldy. It would be nice and quiet though, maybe when I retire, I will my life like a stuffed Maine Coon cat.

Even or oneven numbers – alphabet

July 15, 2007

I recently got an e-mail from a friend of mine, asking me what I thought was the nicest letter in the alphabet. An excellent question of course, so I started saying the alphabet out loud, and concluded that the G, K, R and V are the best ones (the V being the ultimate one). This is of course totally irrational, and therefore, fun!

Linked to this feeling for letters, is that I don’t like even numbers. The 2 is just vile, and I love 9 the best, followed by the 5, which should never be underestimated. The G, K, R and V have that nice uneven vibe about them!

Am I right or wrong, anybody out there that just love the L and the number two (cuckoo, I say)?

Holiday in Germany – Scary pants

June 25, 2007

Just a short note to let you know I’m still here. I was on holiday in Germany the last two weeks, and will be updating generously the coming week with stories, and of course, cat pictures. Just a short post about a most peculiar phenomenon: lots of men in Germany wear very scary short trousers (especially cut-off jeans like this). Shocking, but fun.

June 11, 2007

I was walking to the train station this weekend, when I spotted a very lazy and cute red tomcat sprawled on the sidewalk. I was reaching in my bag for my camera, which is always at the ready to make cat pictures, when I saw something. There was a woman kneeling in front of the cat and taking pictures of him! Cleary, she has the same affliction as me, that means she HAS to take a picture of a feline that crosses her path. It was a bit surreal, because I finally realised how I must look while crouching in the middle of the street for my cat fix.

My imagination took off, and I imagined that she must have a cat blog as well. She might be an emotional doppelgänger! I wanted to ask her questions and find out more, but I was a bit too shy and had a train to catch. Next time, I’ll find out.

Stats rule!

February 20, 2007

I am a huge number and statistics geek. Whenever I see stats I get the great urge to keep looking at them. For instance, when I’m downloading something I keep staring at the time that is left before the download is complete, and the speed in Kb/sec. A bit creepy actually now I think about it.

Because of this little, shall we say, quirk, I also check how people end up on this blog. Believe you me, not a lot of people make it here, but when you look for “show litter as a adjective” on AOL, you end up here. Amazing… I really wonder what this person was looking for and what he or she thought when they came across this blog. I am sure a post about a blind cat in Rome wasn’t on the agenda, but hey, I would be happy with a find like that!
