New cat-egory: Cats on balconies

August 1, 2008

The motto here at Cats ‘n stuff is: three times a charm. Well, when it comes to categories it is. I posted two entries before featuring cats sitting on balconies, and when me and my boyfriend caught another one in the act, I thought it was time for more tagging fun. Because I’m a huge nerd. And even better, the cat was ignoring me like there was no tomorrow!

“Eyes wide open, almost bulging, but so not seeing you.”

“Still not interested.”

I love the last semi-ignoring look. The well known ‘semlling-an-object-but-staring-at-you-anyway’ look to be specific. Well played kitteh!

Cats I disturbed + Jackdaw

May 31, 2007

About a week ago, I was walking about and I saw so many cats that I had to stop every fifty yards to take pictures. Well…I didn’t have to, but I did. Usually, I have a little cuddle if I can, but these cats were not to be disturbed (or reached to be honest).

This cat kind of lives in a cookery store, and no matter how I tapped the windows, there was no reaction. Maybe he was deaf, or just plain ignoring me. My cat-experience sensors tell me it was the latter…

“Lalalalala, I’m not listening!”

This lovely pair were on opposing ends of a balcony staring into the distance.

When I caught their attention, they looked very disturbed.

“What in the world…”

“GO AWAY!”

Well, that did not go too well. The next black and white cat wasn’t telling me to hit the road, but just ignored me. That how I like it!

I’m loving birds more and more, because of their “You can’t make me do anything because I can fly” attitude. This jackdaw who was trying to steal my lunch on  a bike trip mastered this attitude to perfection:

Weekend at “home” and music tips

March 15, 2007

I had a really great time last weekend! I went to my mothers in the city where I grew up. Every time I go there, I am reminded how nice it is to be “home”. Amsterdam is beautiful and all, but when I go down south to visit my family and friends I notice how different it is. It’s lovely! And they have some pretty cool cats roaming in my moms backyard.

Our neighbour cat Shadow. He’s very shy and easily scared. But since I am very patient, he decided petting was in the cards:

I’m not interested thank you very much

Whah
Whah…really?!

If you want to
If you say petting is nice, I’ll try it, if you must

Ah yes, I see your point!

There was another cat on a balcony staring at me while enjoying the sun. He has a strange face, my boyfriend called him the Jack Nicholson of cats:

That last picture is just ridiculous. I love it! And he does really seem to look like Jack…

Tomorrow I’m going to a concert by Jools Holland. That will be an evening filled with me dancing and boogying and really enjoying myself. I love his music: it’s fun, old school rhythm-and-blues and the live band is awesome.

Right now I’m also loving Amy Winehouse’ album Back to Black. It’s a great tribute to old soul music, check it out!
